Job Description
Position Summary –
With minimal supervision, timely, accurately and efficiently assesses claim coverage, liability, legal and damage issues, investigates, evaluates and through negotiation, mediation, arbitration or litigation achieves resolution of all assigned claims, including the more complex claims, and/or assists the claims manager in supervising such duties as performed by the claims representative(s); reviews and supervises new claims, the processing of such claims, initial claim reserves and subsequent changes of the reserves; assigns new lawsuits to defense attorneys, monitors and supervises the work of such attorneys; assists the claims manager in the training or overseeing the training of new employees and/or new duties for other employees; maintains good customer relations; maintains good working relations with co-workers and other company personnel.

The qualified candidate will have 7 or more years of experience in the following areas:
 Personnel Management – Supervises and mentors claims staff
 Multiline Experience – Property, Liability, Auto, and Workers' Compensation
 Claims Management – Reports, reviews reserves, knowledge of laws and procedures
 Claims Investigation – Statements, authorizations, retention of qualified experts and counsel
 Coverage Review – Interprets policies, agreements and disclaimers
